On the occasion seven hundredth anniversary of the death of Marco Polo the Ca' Foscari Alumni Brussels Chapter organizes a meeting Tuesday, November 19 With prof. Philip Pietrogrande, who will read excerpts from relevant books for discussion with the audience in attendance.


Philip Pietrogrande studied philosophy and history at the University of Padua, the University of Verona, the University of Utrecht, KU Leuven, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He earned a PhD at the University of Groningen, taking an interest in topics related to the philosophy of religion and contemporary philosophy. Since 2020 he has lived in Brussels, where he works as a professor of languages and philosophy.


The event will be hosted by Piola Books Nov. 19 from 6:30 p.m., excerpts from the following books will be read:


- Marco Polo, Rustichello from Pisa, The Million

- George Manganelli, The impossible interviews

- Maria Bellonci, Marco Polo

- Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

The Chapter


In these ten years of activity of the Ca' Foscari Alumni Chapter in Brussels, the operations group has contributed to the realization of several events, including the Carnival Party and the "Face to Face" meetings with successful Cafoscarini. Collaboration with alumni associations of other Italian universities present in Brussels was also strengthened for the implementation of joint projects and exchange of ideas.
